29/09: VALVe Releases Synergy On Steam

Synergy, the Half-Life 2 co-operative mod is to be one of the first modifications to be released over VALVe's content distribution platform - STEAM. This is an important news event to Dominion Studios, as I've been mapping for Synergy for three years!
Here's the press release.
- As a part of our continuing efforts to support the MOD community, we will begin hosting selected MODs directly on Steam starting next week. The first five MODs to ship on steam will be Age of Chivalry, D.I.P.R.I.P., Insurgency, Synergy, and Zombie Panic. As always, owners of any Source game will be able to download and play all of these MODs for free. Once installed, these MODs will appear in your "My Games" list and will receive automatic updates just like other games on Steam. Also, these MODs now take advantage of Steamworks, which provides stat tracking and tighter integration with the Steam community. We're excited to see MOD developers get wider recognition for the hard work they have done, and we hope to support more MOD teams in the future. Watch for the official release next week!

15/07: Graduation!

Today I attended the graduation ceremony for sciences at City Hall, Hull. I was many of the students there to recieve degrees in our chosen disciplines.
It was a very prestigious event where the achievements of many graduates were held in very high esteem by the university. Overall, a very good day. Here's me:

30/04: Visual XML Designer 1.0.0 Finished!

Today I had the pleasure of handing in my final submission of the Visual XML Designer project I am creating for my university dissertation. After six months of development, the Visual XML Designer software was finally ready to be reviewed, and my accompanying report complete. It could be a while yet before I release Visual XML Designer on Dominion Studios though. Here's some photo-grabs of my work:

23/04: XML Designer nears completion, syn_defiance progress

The Visual XML Designer being developed by myself is nearing completion and will soon be ready for release here at Dominion Studios. This is currently my active project and is consuming all of my time as deadlines approach! However, there has been a considerable amount of progress on syn_defiance, the new base defence synergy map I am building. Most of the player base has been built, I'm preparing to make an outdoor arena where most of the combat will take place. Screenshots Soon.
06/04: FBDS Premium Down For Now

For the time being only the standard (free) edition of the Desktop Screensaver for Facebook will be available while I resolve some technical issues. I'm planning on updating the software significantly: improving the graphics engine and so on (generally faster and smoother) - so watch this space.

I'm pleased to announce that I've finished designing and deploying the new Dominion Studios website. This new site is running on an updated Nucleus content management system, using a heavily customized (and possibly unorthodox) usage of it's template system. I think it works rather well.
